Office of Graduate Studies and Research

In collaboration with the faculty and staff at San Jose State University, the Office of Graduate Studies and Research (GS&R) strives to ensure the development of quality degree programs, recognize and reward student and faculty accomplishments, support the development of individual and collaborative research efforts, and implement the policies and procedures by which the university is governed.  The goals of the Office of Graduate Studies and Research are multifold: to oversee processes to ensure the quality of graduate and credential programs, to act as an advisory resource to programs initiating or transforming their academic programs, to advocate for faculty and student programmatic needs in the area of scholarship and creative activities, to ensure the university is in compliance with all federal, state, and CSU policies dealing with curriculum and research, to disseminate to SJSU faculty and students, the guidelines for policy related to graduate education and research, to facilitate development of new degree programs at the post-baccalaureate, graduate and joint-doctoral degree levels, to promote graduate student recognition via awards, scholarships, and research forum formats, and to assist in the development of collaborative faculty research activities. Graduate Admissions and Program Evaluations

Please note that many documents related to graduate admission, and most of the university level administrative forms required for completion of the master's degree should be addressed and delivered to Graduate Admissions and Program Evaluations. To avoid significant delays or lost documents, please make sure to verify the correct destination and recepient for all correspondence. PLEASE DO NOT SEND FORMS INTENDED FOR GRADUATE ADMISSIONS AND PROGRAM EVALUATIONS (GAPE) TO GRADUATE STUDIES AND RESEARCH (GS&R).
